The 2021 FedEx Cup champion won the Shriners Children’s Open in 2017, has two runner-up finishes and another top-10 in four outings at the Las Vegas course. He is making his first PGA Tour appearance of the fall season after playing an integral role in Team USA’s victorious Presidents Cup squad two weeks ago. Cantlay is ranked No. 4 in the world and is among 12 players in the top 50 to make the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open field. Max Homa went a perfect 4-0-0 in the United States’ 17.5-12.5 victory at Quail Hollow and will compete this week trying to win his second straight PGA Tour start. He won the Fortinet Championship the week before his show in Charlotte. Sungjae Im, who represented the Internationals in Charlotte, is the defending champion of the Shriners Children’s Open. Last season he tied the tournament record at 24 under.

Shockingly, McDonald is outshining Homa this week, despite the roll he has played. The expert knows he’s in great shape, but he also knows Homa has had big problems at TPC Summerlin. The 31-year-old has not finished in the top 25 once in five Shriners appearances. In fact, he has missed the cut in the last four.
