In anticipation of the annual Halloween event, Behavior Interactive is releasing update 6.3.0 for Dead by Daylight, bringing a new Tome and rewards to the game.
Dead by Daylight has released Update 6.3.0 across all platforms, bringing new content to celebrate the Halloween season. This time of year is usually one for devilish delights in which all must partake, and Dead by Daylight not missing.
In the spirit of the season, players have been given a new limited-time Halloween event to feast on. Titled “Haunted by Daylight”, players will be treated to a terrifying array of content, including new daily rewards to collect and earn. Later in the month, there will be a Twitch stream from developer Behavior Interactive, a free gaming weekend, new merchandise, and a batch of brand new store content Resident Evil 5- inspired skin for Albert Wesker, a Dead by Daylight The killer is called The Mastermind.
The Haunted by Daylight portion of Update 6.3.0 will run from October 13th to November 3rd and brings two new Tomes to the Archives. The first of these is Tome 13, called Malevolence, which will include the stories of The Ghost Face Killer and Survivor Mikaela Reid. As with the previous numbered tomes, it has challenges for players to complete to earn additional blood points and new lore entries from The Observer. Contrary to popular belief, Ghost Face is an original creation for the game and is not the same character as GhostFace from Scream movie theater. The second Tome, the event-exclusive Haunted by Daylight Tome 13.5, will be available until November 3rd for players to unlock special cosmetics.
The 6.3.0 update comes just days after Behavior Interactive confirmed the Halloween event for Dead by Daylight. In addition to content, the update included changes to the game’s quality of life. Trials, the in-game term for matches, will now be forced to end either five minutes after End Game Collapse is triggered or after one hour of gameplay, whichever comes first. Characters who ranked up to level 50 and had a prestige rank of 0, 1, or 2 will receive two additional prestige levels as a supplement. The Archives also improved the layout and changed how challenges are handled between matches. Players can now choose two Archive Challenges at once: one for Killer, one for Survivor, or two global challenges. This was done as a way to avoid going back to the Archives to reactivate challenges after changing roles.
Additionally, the Update made a notable change to the Dead by Daylight Survivor’s toolbox, in the form of a flashlight. As of version 6.3.0, the click speed of the lens has been slowed down and the associated sound effect has been adjusted accordingly. As a result, using lenses will now have a slight delay to reduce strobe effects. This change is part of an effort to reduce the risk of flashing seizures. A note from the official forums said that issues with the lens’s aiming angles are still being investigated. The patch also includes bug fixes for gameplay issues, specific issues with the Xbox One and Steam versions, and some fixes for outstanding issues that affected The Mastermind.
Dead by Daylight is available on mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
