Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 has been out for about two weeks now, and it’s finally time for the first big update of the season. Things definitely change a bit with the arrival of holo cases, the return of grapple gloves, and the boogie bomb vault–but the new Cobra DMR is the star of this update. The standard DMR is shaping up to give the Cobra DMR a chance to shine, but only time will tell if it can live up to expectations.
Where to find Cobra DMR and how it works
The Cobra DMR is a sniper rifle that can be found on the ground, in chests and supply drops, and even from fishing — so you shouldn’t have too much trouble rounding it up.
Those who enjoy staying at medium to long ranges may find this new weapon a great choice, especially since it has a 1.6x higher rate of fire than the standard DMR. It also comes with a 20 clip size — twice the size of the DMR — so you can fire a lot of shots before you need to reload. To balance things out a bit though, it has a bit less damage output than the standard DMR and reloads a bit slower, so keep that in mind if you’re facing mid-range matchups.
As always, we recommend using a backup weapon for close combat, such as the Suppressed SMG or this season’s Prime Shotgun. However, if you’re dead set on being your team’s specialist, it never hurts to bring something to finish people off, like a Ranger Assault Rifle or a Ranger Shotgun. Just be careful out there.
