A letter on Hunter Biden’s infamous abandoned laptop shows the Biden family pursuing a deal with Qatar, undermining the Trump administration and appearing as an attempt at a shady foreign policy.
The letter — retrieved by “Laptop from Hell” from the office of Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) after it was in a previously unread form — shows James Biden, brother of President Biden, making a push to an aide Qatar Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Al Ap that I.
They say, “my family could provide a wealth of imports and business opportunities at the highest levels,” despite the then-“fractured” and “belligerent” Trump administration’s unfavorable policies toward Qatar.
The letter, dated August 1, 2017, which is to be forwarded to the sheikh, criticizes the Trump administration as “broken in nature” and “struggling with major issues that are not going to be resolved anytime soon” — offering to help “effect his vision” Sheikh.
“I would be honored to help realize His Excellency’s vision, but I would be remiss not to point out the fragmented nature of our current government,” the post begins.
“This administration is besieged by big issues that are not going to be resolved anytime soon,” the now-president’s brother also says of the Trump White House.
Through his family’s “deep and broad” ties, which he boasts have “spanned many years and many administrations,” Biden proposes working together on a “different vision” than the Trump administration’s American interest and US-Qatar relations.

James Biden adds, “we continue to advance forward-thinking efforts that create real value both here in the United States and abroad.”
“Our relationships are deep and wide and have spanned many years and many administrations. We are not particularly close to this administration and have a different vision,” he writes. “Meanwhile, we continue to pursue forward-thinking efforts that create real value both here in the United States and abroad. Our primary concern is and always has been to advance the interests of the United States through productive partnerships with partners at home and abroad.”
“If this is consistent with His Excellency’s vision on behalf of the Biden family, I welcome your interest here.”
It is unclear if the letter was ever delivered or if it is a draft.
James Biden strangely notes in the middle of the letter that “we are not, however, lobbyists and we do not operate in this arena,” despite spending the message before and after that statement outlining what some critics might say it looks like a lobby court.
The full letter reads as follows:
Dear Mr. Khaled Sultan Al Rabban:
Thank you for contacting my friend and colleague Dr. Amer Rustom on Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani’s recent visit to the United States and his vision to advance the business interests of the nation of Qatar.
I would be honored to help realize His Excellency’s vision, but I would be remiss not to point out the fractured nature of our current administration. My family could provide a wealth of introductions and business opportunities at the highest levels that I believe would be worthy of His Excellency’s interest. We are not, however, lobbyists and are not active in this area. Our relationships are deep and wide and have spanned many years and many administrations. We are not particularly close to this administration and have a different vision. This administration is beset by major issues that are not going to be resolved anytime soon. Meanwhile, we continue to advance forward-thinking efforts that create real value both here in the United States and abroad. Our primary concern is and always has been to advance the interests of the United States through productive partnerships with partners at home and abroad.
If this is in line with His Excellency’s vision on behalf of the Biden family, I welcome your interest here. I recommend that Dr. Rustom arrange a conference call to discuss how he is moving forward and perhaps a face-to-face meeting in New York or Qatar with you and His Excellency. Contact Dr. Rustom at [redacted phone number] as soon as possible.
James B. Biden, Sr.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani is a member of the ruling family of Qatar.
The summer of 2017 was a tense time in US-Qatar relations, as Saudi Arabia and Qatar were embroiled in a diplomatic crisis while the Trump administration worked on a series of deals with the Saudi Kingdom. In June 2017, the Trump administration offered to mediate talks between the two Gulf countries, but the gesture was rejected. In the following months, hostilities escalated, with Saudi Arabia attempting to isolate Qatar economically and even geographically with a proposed plan to build a canal along its border.
Should Republicans win a majority in the upcoming midterm elections, multiple House investigations into Hunter Biden and the Biden family businesses have been promised amid mounting evidence of corruption.
“This window into the corrupt state of mind of the Biden family is why the next Congress must not stop until they get the truth,” Rep. Issa told Breitbart News. “Of all the lies told to promote the access sale by the Bidens, the worst might have been ‘we’re not lobbyists.’
Issa served document retention notices in March on a dozen people from the intelligence community, the White House, Facebook and Twitter in preparation for the election interference investigation into the suppression of New York’s “Laptop From Hell” series. York Post in October 2020.
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has already spoken to top House Republicans about coordinating investigations of Hunter and the Biden family’s businesses into committees if the GOP takes the House, according to a report by Washington Post.
