Reddit user and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Fan BondCool collected every weapon from the beta and put them into a big list, organizing weapons with tags like AR and SMG. However, they also include some leaked weapons or weapons that would fit perfectly on existing weapon platforms. While they clarify that the game could launch with more weapons than currently listed, they believe there are “not too many” launch weapons beyond what’s listed.
If this list turns out to be accurate, there could be over 50 weapons available from launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, though fans should obviously keep their expectations in check. Five pistols and four launchers are confirmed, with the Combat Knife and Riot Shield serving as melee options. Three shotguns will seemingly be available when Modern Warfare 2 also released on October 28. All other classes will have multiple weapons, with the SMG and Assault Rifle classes being unexpectedly full.
There are plenty of guns that should prove exciting for longtime fans, including the P90 and the Honey Badger from 2013 Call of Duty: Ghosts. The AUG and FAMAS will apparently both be available, with the former having three variants. The iconic desert eagle is also mentioned. As for the guns BondCool isn’t sure about, the Colt 9mm, Dragunov, HAMR, SCAR PDW, and AX-50 are listed as possibilities. Even if only confirmed weapons make the cut, many popular modern weapons will be included in the game.
While many are happy with the list, commenters have mentioned some other weapons they want to see, with the UMP 45, FAL, and G36 all being popular answers. Fortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Post-release Seasons could add these weapons and more.
