Spanish model, actress and influencer Gorro previously revealed that she was very “exhausted” from having sex every day with Garay.
“If you ask me if I still have the same sex drive as before, my answer is no,” Gorro said in 2021.
“I don’t know if it’s a lack of time or a lack of desire, but the truth is no, I don’t.
“But that’s how it is. I love my husband.
“But I don’t want sex with him every day as I’m exhausted. I think a lot of people will identify with me.”
Garay was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in 2013 and both the former Benfica defender and Goro have been dubbed the ‘next Posh and Becks’.
The 36-year-old Argentine’s move to Old Trafford has fallen through, but Garay and ex-wife Goro are taking a break from their marriage.
An emotional Gorro, 35, fought back tears during a nearly 10-minute video on her Instagram account as she confirmed the news about her marriage.
“We’re going to break up, which doesn’t mean we’re going to break up,” she told her 2 million followers.
“We feel that we have acted in a very mature and exemplary way for us and our children, which is to stop in time in the hope that we can recover and live our lives together as we always wanted.
“When the moment comes when you are in the wilderness, you have two choices which is to continue and end up in an exhaustion that has no solution, or to take a break with the faith and desire to continue together.”
Gorro and Garay had two children — Shaila and Antonio — together and married in 2012 after initially dating in 2010.
Garay, who retired from football in 2021 after being devastated by a long-term injury, responded to his ex-wife by calling her “the love of my life”.
He said: “It’s not goodbye but ‘see you later’.
“I love you and no matter what happens you will always be the love of my life. Thank you for these 12 wonderful years.”
Garay was capped 32 times by Argentina and played for the likes of Real Madrid, Benfica, Zenit St Petersburg and Valencia during his club career.
When the former Argentina international looked likely to sign for United, a Spanish broadcaster claimed in 2013: “If all goes according to plan, Ezequiel and Tamara could take over from David and Victoria Beckham in London red carpet”.
