Indeed, Nothing has just announced the full reveal date of their upcoming audio product, Ear (stick).
Well, an announcement about an announcement. You have to hand it to Carl Pei’s marketing department, they never miss a trick.
What we’re saying is that while we still don’t have “anything” definitive about features, pricing, or a release date for the Ear (stick) other than an image of another model holding them (and we’ve seen a lot of them drift on the catwalk recently), we I am doing are dated – the day on which we will be granted official access to that information.
This day is October 26th. There’s no guarantee that we’ll be able to find out everything, including pricing and product specs, during the Ear (stick) online reveal at 3 p.m. that day. BST (which is 10 a.m. ET or 1 a.m. Wednesday if you’re in Sydney, Australia) at nothing.tech (opens in new tab).
Any other info? A little bit. Nothing calls the Ear (stick), which is now the product’s official name, “the next generation of Nothing audio technology” and “the most advanced audio product yet.”
But that is not all! Apparently, the Ear (stick) are “half in-ear true wireless headphones that balance supreme comfort with great sound, unnoticeable when in use. They’re feather-light with an ergonomic design that molds to your ears. Delivered in a unique charging case, inspired by classic cosmetic silhouettes and compactly shaped to slip easily into pockets.”
Opinion: I need more than just a lipstick style case

It’s no secret that I want Nothing’s headphones to succeed in the world dominated by AirPods. who doesn’t love a burly, wacky underdog?
But to become some of the best true wireless headphones on the market, there’s room for improvement over the Nothing Ear 1, the company’s inaugural headphones.
Aside from this official “news” from Nothing, leaked images and videos of the Ear (stick) have been popping up all over the internet (thanks, developer Kuba Wojciechowski) and depict headphones that look largely unchanged, which is a shame .
For me, the focus needs to shift from gimmicks like a cylindrical case with a red section at the end that twists like a lipstick. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bit of theater, but only if the sound coming from the headphones themselves is top notch.
As natural companions for the Nothing Phone 1, it makes sense that the Ear (stick) would take a position similar to that of Apple’s AirPods 3, where the flagship Ear (1) sits alongside the AirPods Pro 2 as the flagship.
See, this lipstick case shape probably won’t support wireless charging. This and the rumored lack of ANC means the Ear (stick) probably ends up being the most affordable option in Nothing’s oeuvre.
For now, we’re sitting pretty until October 26th.
