“Overwatch 2” Account Merge and Update Bug LC-208

Four days after it started Overwatch 2Blizzard is still trying to resolve the major issues plaguing the game so far. Today’s update it’s short (it’s the weekend after all), but hopefully it’ll be of some comfort to those who have experienced these issues.

First, in the coming hours, Blizzard will roll out fixes “to address many of the remaining LC-208 bugs.” This is a connection error that prevents many players from entering the game. I haven’t had a chance to check if they were resolved for me on PS5 and Switch today. I had these problems on Thursday and Friday (still not on PS5 at all).

It’s worth noting that Blizzard didn’t mention any downtime this time around. So it looks like the developers are applying these fixes while the servers are still running.

Meanwhile, some players who have merged their accounts are still missing some skins, other items and stats. Many others are waiting for their account merge to complete. As a reminder, your stuff is still safe. You haven’t lost anything if you come from Overwatch 1. It just takes some time to get through the logjam of account merge requests.

However, Saturday’s update may be good news if you’re still waiting for your account merge to complete. “We are aware of the long account migration queues and are increasing capacity to move it faster,” Blizzard said.

That’s all for now, but Team 4 says it will keep everyone updated on its progress as it works to resolve the issues. He added that he would provide a more thorough update on the state of affairs by Monday.
