PS Plus Premium adds new trial

PlayStation Plus Premium is adding a new trial to its catalog that allows subscribers to play a game from earlier this year for a set duration.

PS Plus Premium has added a new trial that allows users to try out a game released earlier in 2022. PS Plus Premium is the highest level of the revamped PS Plus and comes with unique bonuses. Subscribers at this level have access to the catalog of games available to Extra members, along with a selection of PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 titles.

Time-limited trials are perhaps the most unique aspect of PS Plus Premium, as they allow users to play a selection of games for a set duration, usually around two hours. This way, fans get a hands-on experience with the final version of the game and can make a better purchasing decision down the road. PS Plus Premium members can try games like Horizon Forbidden West, Cyberpunk 2077, Soul Hackers 2, and more at no extra cost. Now, another 2022 game has just been added as a trial to the Premium series.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can download and play Dying Light 2 Stay Human for up to three hours at no extra cost. This test will allow users to play hours of the game and get a feel for its gameplay. Some players experienced motion sickness while playing Dying Light 2so taking the test can help them determine the extent of its effects.

Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 to mixed reviews. However, it ended up being a sales success as developer Techland confirmed it Dying Light 2 sold 5 million units in the first month. Since then, Techland has released several updates to the game that add various pieces of content, including a new Game+ mode.

It is interesting to note that the Dying Light 2 The test lasts for three hours as opposed to the usual duration of two hours. This is not an isolated case either, and mostly depends on the nature of the game. For example, the tests for Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077 are available for five hours each, while those for WWE 2K22, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsand LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga it only lasts two hours.

The date also varies along with the duration, as some games offer a trial to PS Plus Premium members on the first day, but others such as Dying Light 2 come post its release. It will be interesting to see if Sony adds tests for upcoming games like God of War Ragnarok and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PS Plus Premium.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
