- Rare Beauty has launched a limited edition lipstick in a brownish red shade.
- All profits from the product are donated to the Rare Impact Fund, a mental health charity.
- I tried the lipstick and loved it — it’s comfortable, vibrant and long-lasting.
Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty is one of the most popular makeup brands on the market, and its latest release is an example of why.
The company recently announced a new, limited-edition shade of Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream: a brown-toned red called Limitless.
It retails on Rare Beauty’s website for $20, with 100% of sales being donated to the Rare Impact Fund – the company’s mental health charity.
I’ve been a huge fan of the brand’s lip creams since they first launched in August 2020. But after Rare Beauty released lip glosses and bullet lipsticks, the original formula fell off my radar.
So when Limitless was announced in early October, I thought it was a good time to revisit an old favorite.
I ordered the lipstick on Monday night and it arrived the following Thursday morning. It came with a reusable Rare Beauty bag, thank you cards to fill out and a sample card of the brand’s concealer.

Before using the lipstick, I noticed that there was a message on the packaging for the charity Rare Beauty.
The tube of the lipstick had “Rare Impact” printed on it and the outer box had the message: “100% of the sales of this lipstick will go to the Rare Impact Fund to expand mental health services in underserved communities.”
There was also a reusable bag inside my order.

I then tried the lipstick and was an instant fan. It goes on smooth and vibrant with a single swipe, bringing color – and a light cakey scent – to my lips.
The lipstick is also versatile. I first applied a light pat and blended it with my fingers for a stain look, but later added a few more coats to make it opaque.
Like other Rare Beauty lip products, this one lasts a long time — hours of work, lunch breaks, and chatting with friends.
But unlike other red lipsticks — most of which smudge and require touch-ups — this one stayed put and felt comfortable all day.
The lipstick is so comfortable that I forgot I’m wearing it.

That being said, the main thing I love about the brand’s Soufflé products is how unique they are.
They’re as long-wearing as other liquid lipsticks, but much more comfortable — so much so that I forget I’m wearing them. The whipped texture also creates a matte effect that makes your lips look healthy and hydrated.
So if you ask me, a new shade created to fund mental health support is just icing on that cake-scented lipstick.
